Adar Poonawalla tells world leaders: Use Covid learning to improve global health

Adar Poonawalla, CEO of the Serum Institute of India (SII), said on Monday that he is urging multilateral organisations and world leaders to write a document outlining lessons learned from the COVID-19 epidemic in order to bolster global health systems.

Poonawalla believes that the lessons learned from the worldwide pandemic will contribute in resolving contemporary health-care disparity.

"This year @Davos, I'm urging multilateral organisations and world leaders to work together to develop a Global Pandemic Treaty to address inequities and strengthen global health systems," he tweeted.

SII, situated in Pune, is the world's largest vaccine maker in terms of total doses manufactured and marketed. During the pandemic, the business not only supplied but also exported COVID-19 vaccines to a number of countries.
