By the end of 2022, the travel and tourist industry is expected to return to pre-pandemic levels: Rajesh Magow, co-founder and group CEO of MakeMyTrip

By the end of the year, Rajesh Magow, Co-Founder and Group Chief Executive Officer of MakeMyTrip, expects the Indian tourism and travel industry to be back to pre-pandemic levels.

In an interview with Moneycontrol, Magow predicted that domestic travel bookings will return to pre-pandemic levels by the end of September, and foreign travel bookings would resume by the end of the year.

According to Magow, Dubai, the Maldives, and Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand, Bali, and Singapore have emerged as the most popular vacation destinations for Indians wishing to travel overseas, as visa processing delays continue to stymie demand for short-term travel to Europe.

In addition, he stated that the incoming foreign travel market is now lagging behind the outgoing market and that it will take some time to recover.
