WhatsApp has informed users that when they use WhatsApp Payments to make a payment, the legal name of the user will be shown. WhatsApp's legal name is the same as your bank account's. According to the messaging app, NPCI imposed this condition in order to reduce fraud in the UPI payments system. This is due to the fact that people may use multiple names or aliases on their UPI platforms, but WhatsApp's latest adjustment intends to reduce fraudulent behaviours on UPI networks.

"WhatsApp identifies your bank account through UPI using the phone number linked with your account." In a FAQ, the corporation stated that "the name linked with your bank account will be shared." The person you send money to or receive money from on WhatsApp's UPI-based platform will see your legal name, which is the same as your bank account. WhatsApp has already begun to provide notifications about the upcoming changes to its payment platform. The notification includes a link to WhatsApp's FAQ page, which explains why the legal name is required and what it is.

WhatsApp has revealed that it will identify customers' bank account numbers using the phone number associated with their WhatsApp account. The name used on the bank account will be shared with those who participate in WhatsApp transactions. "Other UPI users will be able to see your legal name if you use payments on WhatsApp. Your bank account has the same name as this "According to the FAQ page.

WhatsApp allows users to name their profile whatever they like. It doesn't have to be their full name. On WhatsApp, users can also add emojis to their names or use their nick name. However, things will no longer be the same. While users are not required to modify their profile names, WhatsApp's payment service will only display names associated with their bank accounts if they choose to utilise it.

In terms of payment services, WhatsApp has received permission from the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) to expand its WhatsApp Pay payments service to 40 million Indian customers. If you're unfamiliar with WhatsApp Pay, it's a payment option within the app. The platform is based on the Unified Payments Interface (UPI).
