IKEA India (part of the Ingka Group), a worldwide Swedish home furnishings retailer, announced on May 31 that its Bengaluru store in Nagasandra will open on June 22, 2022.
The large-format store will be linked to the Nagasandra metro station, allowing for a speedier and more pleasant trip and making the store more accessible to Bengaluru residents.
The countdown has begun with the store's unveiling of the iconic IKEA wordmark installation as part of the brand's visual identity.
Anje Heim has been appointed as the Market Manager for the Karnataka market by IKEA India.
"IKEA aspires to provide home furnishing solutions that reflect the goals and dreams of Bengaluru's numerous residents for a better quality of life. IKEA Nagasandra will be your one-stop shop for all of your home furnishing needs. Because IKEA has something for everyone, our unique and cheap IKEA assortment will cater to the wants and needs of the entire family. "We're looking forward to welcoming the numerous Bengaluru residents to our planned store," Heim remarked.
The 460,000 sq ft IKEA Nagasandra store, which spans 12.2 acres, will provide over 7,000 inexpensive, high-quality, sustainable, and well-designed home furnishing IKEA products, as well as attractive home sets to inspire you to decorate your house. The store will also have a 1,000-seater restaurant and a café serving a mix of Swedish and Indian delicacies, as well as one of the largest children's play areas, 'Smland,' and a 1,000-seater restaurant.
The store will feature everything you need for your home, allowing you to make the most of every available space. To give a complete shopping experience, services such as remote planning, personal shopper, and click & collect will be available at the store.
In Bengaluru, IKEA launched its e-commerce adventure in 2021, with a shopping website and an app. IKEA's expansion goal in India continues with an omnichannel approach, focused on providing more options to consumers in both online and physical formats across the country.
Bengaluru residents can continue to shop for their favourite IKEA products online while they wait for the store to open.
The largest IKEA franchisee, the Ingka Group, runs 465 IKEA stores, shops, and planning studios in 32 countries, as well as 47 Ingka Centres gathering spaces. Ingka's revenue for FY21 is estimated to be 39.8 billion euros.
Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Gujarat, and Bengaluru all have an internet presence for the organisation. In Hyderabad and Navi Mumbai, two large-format IKEA stores are open. In December 2021, the brand launched a city centre store in Mumbai, with another set to open in 2022.
