The largest office outside of Japan has now been opened by the Japanese firm Rakuten in Bengaluru. The group's worldwide product and innovation hub is Rakuten India.
According to Rakuten, the Bengaluru office is a hub for advanced engineering, product development, and research. The company's capacity for deep-tech innovation and R&D in fields like e-commerce, fintech, content and entertainment, as well as AI in computer vision, speech, and natural language processing, was also said to be improved by the opening of the new office (NLP).
The office, a 20-story structure in the city's Cubbon Park, can house all 2,000 employees of the business. Rakuten India CEO Sunil Gopinath stated in an interview from last year that the company aimed to hire 3,000 people in India by 2023. This new workplace offers space for more than 3,000 workers.
India has always played a key role in our growth plan. The deep tech and product innovation engagements that Rakuten has been offering from India will be built upon by our new R&D centre, according to Yasufumi Hirai, CIO and CISO, Group Executive Vice President of Rakuten Group.
The CEO of Rakuten India, Sunil Gopinath, stated that "physically coming together to work together and foster community would be a vital component of our future efforts. We are thrilled to welcome workers back to the office where groups can work together, interact, and socialise in ways that we missed during the pandemic, the executive continued.
