Shiprocket purchases Arvind's omnichannel division for Rs 200 billion in shares and cash.

On Tuesday, logistics start-up Shiprocket announced that it has agreed to pay Rs 200 crore for the omnichannel technology company Omuni from textile and branded apparel behemoth Arvind Limited. Shiprocket and Arvind Ltd's Omuni will combine their expertise as part of the stock-and-cash arrangement to enable prompt, effective deliveries of shipments from warehouses, thereby shortening delivery times and enhancing customer satisfaction.

Omuni, the retail enablement platform of Arvind Group, was established in 2014. In order to provide seamless online/offline commerce journeys between stores, warehouses, and digital channels, Omuni's Software as a Service (SaaS) products enable brands to integrate inventory, order, catalogue, content, pricing, logistics, and data management across physical and digital storefronts.

The 2017-founded Shiprocket offers a technology stack to assist retailers in integrating their e-commerce websites on Shopify, Magento, Woocommerce, Zoho, and other platforms. The platform facilitates Indian and worldwide shipping delivery with over 17 courier partners on board. Its shipping solutions are accessible in 220 countries and over 29,000 Indian pin codes.

The Shiprocket-Omuni acquisition deal will therefore ensure better inventory utilisation, quicker localised fulfilment, optimise operational costs, and provide delightful multichannel experiences as the majority of retailers adopt an omnichannel retail strategy to serve customers across digital and physical storefronts.Order volumes and order fulfilment rates for merchants will rise, according to Shiprocket and Omuni, with seamless inventory sync and fulfilment between online and offline channels.

"For the greatest possible e-commerce experience for customers, we can integrate inventory, orders, catalogues, content, pricing, and data across physical and digital storefronts with the help of Omuni's SaaS products. Through omnichannel retail enablement, we hope to reinvent e-commerce logistics "co-founder and CEO of Shiprocket Saahil Goel.

Shiprocket's network sends packages to more than 70 million consumers each year and has over 250,000 vendors who collectively produce a gross merchandise value (GMV) of over $2.5 billion annually (YoY).
