According to reports, Ashneer Grover is looking to raise up to $300 million to fund his next venture

According to people with direct knowledge of the situation, BharatPe co-founder Ashneer Grover is in talks with US-based family offices and offshore private equity players to raise $200-300 million for a new business.

Grover has already met with at least six investors and is willing to put some of his own money into his next venture, according to the report.

Negotiations with investors are still in the early stages, and little is known about his next business venture.

Grover announced on Twitter on June 14 that he is ready to return to business with plans to create another unicorn. The entrepreneur teased an upcoming venture in a Twitter post, saying it will "disrupt another sector."

"Today is my 40th birthday. Some may argue that I've lived a full life and seen more things than the average person. Generations of value were created. Grover tweeted, "It's still unfinished business for me."

He was previously the MD of BharatPe, a fintech company he helped develop from the ground up until his bitter leave in August last year, following charges of financial irregularities. BharatPe had joined the unicorn club in August last year, with a valuation of $1 billion or more.

Grover was previously associated with Grofers, another unicorn, before BharatPe. Until August 2017, he was the chief financial officer of Grofers (now Blinkit).
