Amazon and Flipkart, two of the biggest names in online shopping, will start their holiday sales on September 23. Flipkart has announced that it will launch "The Big Billion Days 2022" through the end of September while Amazon India will stage a 28 to 29-day holiday sale called the Amazon Great Indian Festival.

"There will be 2 lakh local retailers among the 11 lakh sellers who will participate in the sale. All serviceable pin codes will be covered by the deliveries we make to customers. The main difference this year is that it will follow two years of epidemic. We are going back to business as usual "Noor Patel, vice president of Amazon India, told PTI.

Prior to opening its doors to the general public on September 23, Amazon will grant its Prime Members 24 hours of early access.

During the holiday season, the company anticipates around 2,000 launches across all categories, according to Patel. "Launching numerous iterations of a new product counts as one launch. For the initial stage of the event, State Bank of India is a partner with us. They'll give debit and credit card holders a 10% discount "explained Patel.

He said that the sale will continue till 3-4 days before Diwali. "For the purpose of assisting customers in making an informed buying decision, we hope to collaborate with more than 150 influencers to produce 600 live streams. We also have livestreams where clients can get deals that are exclusively available LIVE, "added Patel.

To promote the Big Billion Days event, Flipkart, which has 4.2 lakh seller partners, has worked with a number of superstars, including Amitabh Bachchan, Alia Bhatt, and MS Dhoni.

Up to 130 Big Billion Days offers have been launched and created, according to the Walmart group company, by more than 90 brands in the fashion, electronics, mobile phone, major appliance, personal care, and handicrafts categories.

The CEO of Flipkart Group, Kalyan Krishnamurthy, stated that "TBBD also illustrates our commitment towards providing access to quality and affordability to the customers and boosting the economy through our operations in a sustainable manner while creating jobs, and livelihood opportunities across the country."
