Godrej Properties Ltd, a subsidiary of Godrej Industries and one of India's top real estate developers, said on January 13 that it had purchased 60 acres of property outright in Chennai's fast-developing micromarket of Oragadam Junction.

According to the business, the proposed project has a developable potential of roughly 1.6 million square feet of saleable area and will consist mostly of residential plotted development.

"We are delighted to add this land block to our portfolio. It is consistent with our aim of expanding our footprint in India's major cities. "We will strive to establish an extraordinary plotted development project in Chennai that provides long-term value to its people," stated Gaurav Pandey, managing director and CEO of Godrej Properties.

According to the company, the land is located between Grand South Trunk Route (GST road) and NH-4, right off Oragadam Junction (on the 6-lane SH-48), and provides access to other sections of the city via Chennai Bypass Road, Chennai Tiruvallur High Road, and Red Hills Road.

According to the statement, Oragadam Junction is considered as one of Chennai's fastest-growing business and largest industrial corridors, with 22 Fortune 500 businesses' production plants scattered over the industrial belt running from Sriperumbudur to Oragadam.

The neighbourhood has good civil and social infrastructure, including schools, colleges, hospitals, and retail shops, and it is well-connected by road and train.
