An Amazon Pay Smart Stores representative said in Coimbatore on Thursday that more than 700 neighbourhood shops in Tamil Nadu had joined the programme.
According to Amazon Pay India Director of Rewards and Merchant Services Girish Krishnan, the Amazon Pay Smart Store programme helps users find offline retailers, boosting in-store sales.
"We are dedicated to provide customers and business owners with simple credit access so they may spend less money and save more. The initiative has seen a 72% increase in sign-ups from small and medium businesses in the past year in the categories of mobile phones, electronics, computers, clothes, and shoes "He told Coimbatore reporters.
Coimbatore has more than 100 smart stores, according to him, with more than 4,000 coming from southern regions.
