OYO purchases Danish vacation rental company Bornholmske Feriehuse
Bornholmske Feriehuse, a company based on the Danish island of Bornholm, has 737 vacation houses scattered over 30 vacation parks on its platform and anticipates booking more than 2.5 lakh visitor nights by the year 2022.
On Tuesday, the travel and hospitality technology platform OYO announced that it has acquired Bornholmske Feriehuse, a provider of vacation rentals in Denmark, for an unknown fee.
Bornholmske Feriehuse, based on the Danish island of Bornholm, has 737 vacation houses scattered over 30 vacation parks on its platform and anticipates exceeding 2.5 lakh guest nights in 2022, according to a statement from OYO.
The company's subsidiary DanCenter completed the purchase via the 'Invest in Denmark' programme of the Danish government, which offers a specialised one-stop solution to foreign companies wishing to establish up or develop a business in the country, it continued. OYO founder and Group CEO Ritesh Agarwal stated that Bornholm "displays significant potential for tourism in the next years."
Bornholmske Feriehuse, a full stack operator offering end-to-end solutions to homeowners, was founded in 2002 by Rasmus and Jacob Lund. According to the announcement, Rasmus Lund will continue to lead Bornholmske Feriehuse and expand business operations.
According to him, the partnership between OYO and DanCenter A/s provides the opportunity to meet demand, just as homeowners gain from the numerous web portals DanCenter partners with. In the future, more than 130 internet portals, with which DanCenter closely collaborates, will provide Bornholmske Feriehuse vacation houses for reservation.
OYO has presences in a number of European nations, including the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria, and Croatia. The domestic company purchased the Croatian company Direct Booker in May of this year. Direct Booker has over 3,200 residences and served 20 lakh consumers. Belvilla (Belvilla by OYO), DanCenter, and Traum Ferienwohnungen are some of its brands in Europe.
According to the release, "the acquisition of Bornholm will increase OYO's foothold in Europe generally and Denmark specifically."
