State-owned CIL announced on Thursday that it had produced 412.6 million tonnes of coal between April and November of the current fiscal year and that it was confident it would surpass the output goal set for that period.
In the April through November timeframe of the previous fiscal year, the PSU produced 353.4 MT.
In the current fiscal year, Coal India Ltd. (CIL), which produces more than 80% of the domestic coal, plans to produce 700 million tonnes (MT).
A top CIL official responded, "This is doable.
To meet its output goal for the current fiscal, the coal giant must produce 287.4 MT of coal throughout the final four months of the current fiscal.
"We are confident that we will exceed the fiscal's production target due to the strong increase in production that has been seen thus far and the overburden removal that is exhibiting robust growth that aids in faster coal extraction in the coming months. Additionally, production accelerates into a higher trajectory in Q4, "the representative added.
Last month, the PSU produced 60.7 MT of coal, representing a 12.8% increase over the corresponding month of the previous fiscal.
