The Tamil Nadu unit of Lindstrom India expands its capacity and plans to hire 100 people

According to a company spokesman on Wednesday, Lindstrom India, a subsidiary of the Finnish textile service company Lindstrom Oy, has increased activities in this location's workwear service unit in an effort to meet the country's expanding demand in the south.

According to Juha Laurio, president and chief executive officer of Lindstrom Group, the Chennai unit is anticipated to employ roughly 100 individuals with the extension of activities.

The expanded workwear service plant at Singaperumalkoil, some 45 kilometres away, would cater to the rising demand in south India's automotive, electronics, food, pharmaceutical, and healthcare sectors.

"We made a wise strategic decision to choose Chennai. We want to be near to our clients and provide them with services in the markets where they are active, in line with our business plan. The cutting-edge business unit in Chennai boosts capacity by 100% and is built to meet Lindstrom's sustainability targets to achieve carbon neutrality by 2035 "said Laurio.

"Around 100 individuals are anticipated to work at the Chennai location," he said. The company will include 11 workwear and one clean room business units with a capacity to produce more than three million garments each month, according to the company's managing director Jayant Roy.

We can now match the expanding demand for our services in the southern regions of India thanks to this expansion in capacity, he said. There are service centres for Lindstrom India spread over 11 cities.

Anupam Chakrabarty, senior vice president of the Lindstrom Group for Asia, stated that the company has been working in India for more than 15 years and has grown its activities to nearly cover the entire country. We as a group are pleased to continue investing in growing our activities in the future, he added, given our high growth rate in India.
