Following the signing of a land lease deal with the Odisha government, shares of Wonderla Holidays, an operator of amusement parks with headquarters in Bengaluru, increased by more than 3%.

With a volume of over 3.5 lakh shares, the stock closed at Rs 234.95 on the NSE, an increase of 3.57 percent over the previous close.

On June 29, the firm notified exchanges that it had signed a contract with the Government of Odisha for the leasing of land of roughly 50 acres.

In Kumarbasta village, Bhubaneswar, it would build an entertainment park project on this site.

In Kochi, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad, Wonderla now operates three theme parks. Additionally, it runs a Wonderla-branded resort in Bengaluru.

Compared to a loss of Rs 4.87 crore during the same time last year, which was adversely affected by the second COVID wave, Wonderla Holidays recorded a profit of Rs 8.51 crore in the March 2022 quarter. Revenue increased by 71 percent to Rs 59.44 crore at the end of the March quarter from Rs 34.79 crore in the same quarter prior fiscal year.
