Apple calls for a decarbonized global supply chain by 2030

Apple on Tuesday urged its worldwide supply chain to decarbonize by 2030 and said that it will analyse and report the annual progress of its major manufacturing partners' efforts to do the same.
According to a newsroom post from Apple, the company with headquarters in Cupertino, California, has been carbon neutral for its worldwide corporate operations since 2020 and is concentrating on the objective to achieve carbon neutrality throughout its entire global supply chain and the life cycle of every product.
The post stated, "Apple calls on the global supply chain to decarbonize by 2030." The business is extending its investments in sustainable energy and climate solutions while stepping up its collaboration with suppliers to decarbonize production for Apple products.
Apple said that it "will assess the efforts of its main manufacturing partners to decarbonise their Apple-related businesses, including running on 100% renewable electricity and will report yearly progress." Apple also unveiled new efforts and investments aimed at assisting in the decarbonization of the global economy and promoting climate solutions for communities as the effects of climate change become more apparent.
These include increased funding for initiatives that enhance organic carbon removal and community-driven climate solutions, collaborations to support businesses making the switch to clean energy, and investments in renewable energy in Europe.
The company is working with its global supply chain as part of the supplier engagement to push for expedited action to achieve carbon neutrality for their Apple-related corporate operations.
Apple will collaborate with vendors who are moving quickly and achieving measurable decarbonization goals.
