Movius app: what is it?

Indian businesses are advising staff members not to use messaging apps like WhatsApp. Additionally, some European banks have requested that staff members download the Movius app for all business correspondence.

Movius app: what is it?

Recently, the employees of Deutsche Bank had been instructed to install a programme named "Movius." The goal was to monitor their interactions with clients.

In the world of remote work, Movius enables businesses to monitor staff interactions with clients, particularly in regulated banking professions that demand careful oversight. A US smartphone programme called Movius monitors secret communication such as SMS, calls, and messages sent through WhatsApp.

The software is intended to give businesses compliant, dependable mobile communications that enable employees to engage with clients, according to Movius CEO Ananth Siva.

Bankers frequently utilise emails and private chat services to build trusting relationships with their clients. However, the majority of the top banks have policies that forbid staff from doing so and require them to only connect with clients through channels that are related to their jobs. Breaking such rules may result in consequences.

After a slew of regulatory investigations prompted bankers to resign for corresponding with clients through secret channels, Tier-1 global banks were shaken. JP Morgan was hit with a huge $200 million charge last year for failing to safeguard employee emails and messaging apps.

Similar to this, Credit Suisse fired a banker earlier this year after he communicated with clients using a private channel.

Deutsche Bank used Movius to track the private calls and messages of its workers as part of a broader investigation. Similarly, JP Morgan required that staff members utilise Movius for business communications.
