For the development of Indian Railways' green projects, REMC will work in conjunction with the Energy and Resources Institute (TERI).

A partnership between the Ministry of Railways and RITES Ltd. is REMC.

In accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that the two organisations signed on August 1, they want to cooperate together on projects involving energy efficiency, green building, performance audits, and railway net-zero targets.

TERI announced in a statement that it would work with REMC to enhance capacity and create renewable energy projects for the Indian Railways. The endeavour would also focus on enhancing the technical and sustainability capacities of railway personnel, it was said. The collaboration will help REMC and the Ministry of Railways' decarbonization project, according to Vibha Dhawan, Director General of TERI, who noted that the railways are crucial to the nation's efforts to cut emissions.

Ajay Kumar Singhal, CEO of REMC, stated that the association and expertise of TERI with their research and analytical work would unquestionably merit us for delivery with proficiency in its endeavour of energy transition and to achieve the set targets of Indian Railways on decarbonisation, a net zero carbon emitter by 2030.

TERI is an independent research organisation that specialises in developing and implementing new technologies and conducting policy studies.
