Opening a campus in Coimbatore, Tech Mahindra intends to hire 1,000 people in FY23

In keeping with its aspirations to establish talent supply hubs in smaller cities and villages, Tech Mahindra opened its new campus at Tidel Park in Coimbatore on July 4.

For this 10,000 square foot campus, the IT services company wants to hire 1,000 associates in FY22-23 in order to attract local talent and give existing associates the opportunity to work from home.

CEO and MD of Tech Mahindra CP Gurnani stated he won't be shocked if in less than two years, more than 20% of the company's talent supply comes from tier-2 or tier-3 locations.

"...You are aware of how Indian systems operate. For various social reasons, some children won't be able to leave their homes to travel to Bangalore or Pune, and the same is true for some girls. I can access that talent as soon as I expand that supply base. And that is what visiting these little cities has given me," Gurnani had stated.

The new campus will be utilised to create the technology stack for next-generation application development and management skills, including Intelligent Automation, Artificial Intelligence, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Full-Stack Development, and Customer Experience (CX) (ADMS).

MK Stalin, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, officially opened the facility in the presence of Sriram K, senior vice president of Tech Mahindra's Enterprise Americas division.

"At Tech Mahindra, we think that tierOf2 and tier-3 cities are developing as future talent hubs and have the ability to drive the next phase of growth," stated Harshvendra Soin, Global Chief People Officer & Head - Marketing. Our main goal for FY'22-23 is to develop a more inclusive and varied talent pool.

"We are thrilled to open a new campus in Coimbatore, and we firmly think that by offering a seamless client experience, it will help us drive business growth in untapped regions. We want to give people in Coimbatore opportunity for success and help them realise their full potential through this new campus, he continued.
