On Tuesday, the provider of solar energy solutions Vikram Solar announced that it has received an order for a 350 MW power project from a US-based company. According to a corporate statement, the deal is for the supply of solar modules for a project that will be situated in Arizona, US.
According to the firm, the new order will help speed the market's move to clean energy and further solidify Vikram Solar's position in the US.
"We are seeing an increase in demand for high-quality Indian-made modules in the US, which is in line with the push for sourcing policies to be more varied. We are committed to growing our market share in the US and serving utility, business, and residential customers "Vice Chairman and MD of Vikram Solar Gyanesh Chaudhary remarked.
The US has the capacity to generate up to 20-25 GW of solar energy yearly over the next 4-5 years, according to the International Energy Agency.
